Blue Heart Care Group is proud to announce that we have achieved Disability Confident Leader (Level 3) status, the highest level of accreditation within the UK Government’s Disability Confident Scheme. This significant achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where people living with disabilities and long-term health conditions can thrive, develop, and reach their full potential.
What is the Disability Confident Scheme?
The Disability Confident scheme is a UK Government initiative that supports employers in recruiting, retaining and providing career development to people with disabilities and long-term health conditions. As a Disability Confident Leader, we are committed to:
- Continuously reviewing and improving our recruitment and employment practices
- Removing barriers that may prevent disabled people from accessing opportunities
- Providing reasonable adjustments and support throughout employment
- Promoting a culture that fosters positive conversations around disability, mental health, and wellbeing
- Sharing best practice and encouraging inclusive employment across the wider health and social care sector
- Supporting other organisations on their Disability Confident journeys
Leading by Example
Achieving Level 3 is more than just recognition of our existing efforts. It represents our commitment to leading by example and helping to create a more inclusive health and social care sector. At Blue Heart Care Group, we recognise that diversity and inclusion strengthen teams, improves workplace culture, and enhances the quality of care and support we provide. We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to succeed at every stage with us, from recruitment, interview stage, onboarding and during employment with us.
Looking Ahead
While we are incredibly proud to be one of less than 100 companies in Wales that have achieved Disability Confident Leader (Level 3) status, we understand that inclusion is an ongoing journey rather than a destination. We will continue to review our practices, listen to the lived experiences of our colleagues, and seek new ways to strengthen accessibility and inclusion across our organisation.
As a Disability Confident Leader, we are committed to sharing our learning, supporting others and helping to drive positive change within the sectors in which we operate.
We would like to thank our dedicated team for helping us build a workplace that embraces diversity, promotes equality and inclusion, and supports everyone to thrive.
