Blue Heart Care Group Shortlisted for Inclusive Employer of the Year Award

Blue Heart Care Group is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Inclusive Employer of the Year Award at the Wales Business Awards 2026, a recognition that celebrates organisations across Wales who are leading the way in creating workplaces where every individual feels welcome, valued, and able to thrive.

This year’s shortlist, released by Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid, includes organisations committed to embedding meaningful inclusion across their culture and operations.

Being named among the finalists places Blue Heart Care Group alongside organisations such as Bipsync, Brightlink Learning Ltd, CASE UK C.I.C, Ignite Unlocking Potential, and the Welsh Refugee Council — all acknowledged for their commitment to building equitable and empowering working environments.

In social care, inclusion isn’t optional — it’s essential. When our staff feel valued and supported, it directly shapes the care people receive. That’s why we focus on creating a workplace where people can genuinely thrive.

A Milestone for Putting People First

Our work is guided by a simple belief: care should always come from the heart. Our entry reflects to our organisation-wide approach of putting people first — both the people who work for us and the people we support.

This shortlisting reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering a culture rooted in dignity, respect, and genuine inclusion across all areas of our organisation. As a care and recruitment provider operating within a highly regulated and people centred sector, we understand that meaningful inclusion is not only essential to staff wellbeing, but it directly impacts the quality, safety, and compassion of the care we deliver.

Our approach goes beyond compliance. We believe that how staff are treated directly shapes the care people receive. When staff feel supported, valued and able to thrive, they are better able to deliver consistent, compassionate care. It focuses on:

  • Creating inclusive recruitment pathways that open opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds. As a Disability Confident Committed employer, we aim to make our recruitment process accessible and inclusive.
  • This includes practical, individual adjustments such as flexible working arrangements, supporting staff through periods of illness, and removing barriers that would otherwise prevent people from remaining in work.
  • Promoting staff wellbeing, which is treated as a core part of how the business operates. Care work can be demanding, and we take a proactive approach through regular supervision, open access to senior leadership, recognition and flexibility.
  • Encouraging continuous professional development, ensuring every team member has equal access to training, growth, and progression.
  • Building culturally responsive teams, reflective of the communities we serve.  The communities we support across Wales and the wider UK are diverse in culture, language, lived experience, faith, identity, and socioeconomic background. Our workforce must reflect that reality if we expect to deliver safe, personcentred care.

The 2026 awards will bring together 72 finalists across 13 categories, showcasing innovation, leadership, and workplace excellence across Wales.

Driving Inclusion in Social Care and Healthcare Recruitment

Within the health and social care sector, inclusive employment is more than best practice — it directly shapes the care experience of children, young people, adults, and families. When we empower teams with diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and cultural understanding, Blue Heart Care Group strengthens its ability to provide safe, person-centred care.

Our inclusive approach is not just an initiative or campaign, it grew naturally from how we already worked and is a core part of who we are, what we represent, and how we operate each day. By investing in our people, we have created a stable workforce and a service that people trust. This has supported greater staff stability and continuity of care across our services — and that, in health and social care, makes a real difference.

Looking Ahead to the Awards Ceremony

The winners of the Wales Business Awards 2026 will be announced at the awards ceremony on 14th May 2026. This recognition reflects the culture we have built together — one where people feel valued, supported and able to thrive. In a sector facing ongoing workforce challenges, we remain committed to showing that when you care properly for your staff, the impact is felt by every person you support.
